Museum welcomes student artists

The Pasadena Museum of California Art has teamed up with the Visual Arts and Media Studies Division to present PCC’s annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, “Tomorrow Today.”The exhibition, which until this year has been held in the PCC Art Gallery, features 61 original works by students currently enrolled in art and design classes that were selected by a jury of art professionals from PMCA.

300 class sections to be cut

In an attempt to prepare for a possible $9.6 million budget cut, administrators confirmed that 300 class sections would have to be cut next year.”The plan for next year is not to cut students,” President Mark Rocha said during a budget development meeting sponsored by the Academic Senate, “but to get the enrollment down to where the state wants us.

Oscar hosts get mixed reactions

The Academy Awards has been a Hollywood tradition since its fist ceremony in 1929. Each year critics, fans, and industry insiders tune in to see who receives the film community’s most coveted prize. Even though this year’s show didn’t receive as high a rating as last year, many in the PCC community saw the event, but reviews on the hosts, actress Anne Hathaway and actor James Franco, are mixed.
