Unlike that German dude, PCC students don’t want 217 COVID shots

Share: As the fourth anniversary of COVID approaches, PCC as a community is starting to return to normal after the universal panic. While students care about their health and staying safe, one man in particular took safety to extreme measures.  A German man who took 217 COVID-19 vaccines over 29 months is still running strong. The 62-year-old, whose life is incognito but seems to be everywhere, is defying the recommendations given out by experts, which advise only one booster a year. When averaging all his …

China’s punishing COVID policies spark rare protests

Share: China’s zero policy COVID restrictions are a travesty illuminating the abuses perpetuated by The Communist Party of China. Measures imposed by the policy are severe and prevent businesses from operating and residents from leaving their homes. According to a BBC report, these lockdowns are mandated even in cases where the spread of the virus has been local. It is gravely unfortunate that freedom is not an inherent right to the people of China as it might seem to other countries. These rights are easily …

Return to campus complicated by long testing lines

Share: A car broke down this weekend in the Covid-19 testing car line and required a tow-truck service to remove the vehicle.  This first week back to school was a classic case of trial and error. As of Jan. 24, Pasadena City College now requires all students and staff to receive a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to coming to class or entering the buildings. PCC has over 26,000 students currently enrolled this spring semester, many of whom are taking in-person classes.  …

However, the school district has not signed off on the proposal, prompting concerned faculty and students to respond by organizing a …

PCC temporarily postpones in person classes amid omicron surge

Share: Due to LA counties positive Covid cases being at an all time high, PCC has decided to adhere to the suggestion made by the California Community college chancellor’s office’s suggestion to delay in person classes for the first two weeks of the Spring 2022 semester, with plans to resume face-to-face instruction starting on Jan. 24. “The decision to have our face-to-face classes move to synchronous online will be revisited each week,” Superintendent-President Dr. Erika Endrijonas said. “We are monitoring infection rates and local and …

Reopening theme parks is a necessary step towards normalcy

Share: Since COVID cases are slowly starting to decrease and more people are getting vaccinated, theme parks in California are opening up. With theme parks reopening, California residents, specifically families, have more opportunities to spend time together in a public setting. This gives families a new routine and that is different from what they have been doing since the start of the pandemic.  Theme parks during the pandemic will have fewer crowds unlike before and will be required to keep social distance on rides. Fewer …

‘LA is not ready to reopen’ says PCC pre-med club

Share: Children’s laughter, screams of joy, light music, fluffy cotton candy, and exciting rides are what people imagine when they talk about an amusement park – a place where good memories are created.  There are more than 20 amusement parks located in California, and 4 in Los Angeles. These parks have attracted tons of tourists and visitors in the past, helping the economy of California. Unfortunately, amusement parks were forced to close during the pandemic. However, as the cases in California continue to drop, Governor …
