$81,500 awarded to digitize PCC Courier print archives

On April 19, 2022, PCC faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the recognition ceremony to commemorate and announce the inaugural recipient of PCC’s Community Excellence Grant for the next academic year. This initiative comes from the generous $30 million gift from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott in 2021. Divided: Faculty union continues fight against in-person learning

After some faculty members and students held a demonstration last week about returning to campus, PCC welcomed students and faculty back to school this week with multiple COVID testing sites and equipped everyone with a pack of triple-layered surgical-grade masks. While many students expected to return to campus this fall due to relaxed Covid-19 mandates and the PCC campus reopening in July, the Pasadena City College Curriculum Committee (PCCCC) had other plans. How to get books, supplies and a free ride courtesy of PCC

  PCC is giving students 150 dollars credit towards Bookstore purchases this fall semester, as well as an advance of 400 dollars for Pell Grant recipients. The 150 dollar credit began on Aug. 16 and Dr. Erika Endrijonas, the superintendent and president of PCC said in an email sent to all students that all students, credit or non-credit will have the opportunity to utilize the money.

Spring sports cancellation knocked down athletes enrollment

Due to the cancellation of PCC’s Spring Sports season by the South Coast Conference CEO’s, student-athletes have dropped their classes as well as the athletic program, leaving enrollment numbers to waiver. “An unfortunate consequence of the COVID-19 crisis directly affecting athletes is that a number of student-athletes have left our sports teams,” said Robert Lewis, PCC sports information specialist.
