New full-time hires call PCC home
Share: At the end of the spring semester, the Board of Trustees hired a new batch of full-time faculty members, deans, and counselors. In addition, changes in the learning model from ‘schools’ to ‘divisions’ have immediately taken effect. There are close to 60 faculty members that currently hold positions with the school, including five deans, seven counselors, and three executives – all holding permanent positions. Badminton: From tears to triumph in State Championships
Share: PCC women’s badminton team lost the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Team Championship to Fresno City College (FCC) on May 12, despite cruising through the South Coast Conference (SCC) all season. Metro dumps ITAP for U-PASS

Police Blotter: Student fainted in classroom
Share: Monday, Apr. 18: A student requested an escort to their vehicle after twisting their ankle in the stadium, and was taken to their vehicle by Officer Arechiga. Tuesday, Apr. 19: Students reported that four male students were harassing female students in the quad. Officer Robins made contact with the students and advised them to leave the female students alone. Welding students win gold at state
Share: Recently, PCC welding students competed for state at the SkillsUSA competition and won gold in the welding sculpture category while also winning a bronze medal in the welding fabrication team category and silver in SMAW (shield metal arc weld). Back in January, PCC Welding students competed at the regional SkillsUSA competition where they ended up walking away with a gold medal as well. Follow:

Legacy of Courier adviser lives on
