All three Board of Trustees incumbents re-elected
All three incumbents were re-elected by a substantial majority in the election on Oct. 9 for Pasadena Area Community College Board of Trustees.
‘Kitty litter’ murder trial under way
Opening arguments in the case against Isaac Campbell, who has been in jail since 2007 for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Liya “Jessie” Lu, and sealing her body in a trashcan in a plastic bag filled with cat litter, began on Oct. 7. The trial had been continued and postponed for four years.
Vets give food, clothing to homeless
A group of veterans from PCC sought out and distributed donations from a clothing and food drive to help homeless vets in Los Angeles County on Nov. 5.
Veterans teamed up with The National Veterans Foundation, a Los Angeles-based organization centered on helping veterans any way they can.
Trial date set in fatal accident
A trial date has been requested for PCC student Bowen Du, 19, who has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after a fatal accident, according to his attorney.
Iconic coach Robinson dies at 84
Ron Robinson, a legendary figure in PCC athletics who coached the school to its last baseball state championship in 1967, has died after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 84.
Realignment process moves forward
Though the division realignment process is moving along through committees, some faculty members at the Academic Senate meeting on Nov. 7, believe it is already a done deal.
Preventing a crisis before it happens
The Crisis Prevention and Response Team Committee is a new committee with goals to inform teachers on how to deal with difficult students, help those troubled students by offering them what ever services they may need, and most importantly to keep PCC’s campus safe.
CPART offers a variety of services including campus police and safety services, Psychological services, and student health services.
