New director to overhaul financial aid
Share: Students have expressed frustration about the financial aid filing and disbursement process ranging from lengthy wait times to receiving refunds, inconsistent information from counselors and not fully understanding the process. Swim team dives head first into new season
Share: The women’s swim team dominated both opposing teams in the first South Coast Conference double dual of the season against East Los Angeles College and Long Beach City College on Friday. Non-resident tuition increase to net millions in revenue
Share: Earlier this month the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a tuition increase on the non-resident tuition fee for international and out-of-state students beginning in the 2016-2017 fiscal year, which will generate millions of dollars in revenue per year. Follow:
Campus surveillance system to undergo $165K upgrade
Share: Security systems company Sierra Group has been awarded a $165,516 contract to upgrade and replace portions of PCC’s existing security system, including 38 campus-wide surveillance cameras, as well as elements of the command center at campus police. Follow:
College Council dumps Brown Act
Share: The College Coordinating Council, a shared governance committee represented by various constituency groups college-wide, approved a motion to exempt themselves from the Brown Act, but open government advocates question the legality of the move as the council is a committee created by a legislative body.
