Share: Olympic 800-meter champion Caster Semenya lost her appeal against the Swiss Federal Tribunal (SFT) which will allow the World Athletics organization to ban Semenya from defending her title unless she takes testosterone suppressing medication. The argument that testosterone gives Semenya an unfair advantage is an argument built on inaccurate scientific studies and begs the question, is it fair for all or some? Semenya was born with no advantages than any other hard-training athlete. Follow:
‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ still persists in politics
Share: Andrew Gillum, former mayor of Tallahassee and gubernatorial candidate, was considered a rising star in the Democratic party. In March, several media outlets reported that Gillum was one of three men who was found inebriated with crystal meth in a Miami hotel room. One of the men was a known gay male escort. Gillum’s critics casted judgments on his sexuality, which raised questions about the acceptance of the LGBTQ community in politics. So while America alleges to be this open, inclusive and diverse society, …
J.K. Rowling’s sarcasm isn’t the transphobia Twitter says it is
Share: A cisgender man dresses as a woman in order to commit violent acts of murder. Does that sound transphobic? A homosexual woman dresses as a man in order to commit violent acts of murder. Does that sound homophobic? The first one is actually the premise of J.K. Rowling’s new novel ‘Troubled Blood,’ Rowling’s fifth installment of the Cormoran Strike series. Both its author and her new novel have been facing accusations of transphobia. Now if that is indeed true then the other statements would …

Share: Over this past Labor Day weekend, Boston based magazine The Atlantic published an article claiming President Donald Trump called soldiers that died in World War I “losers” and “suckers.” The president disputes ever saying these comments. However, his past attacks on veterans and their families prove the president is unreliable to telling the truth. Follow:

Black lives matter: it’s more than just a hashtag
Share: A screenshot copy chain has been going around Instagram with the caption of “tag 10 people who support black lives matters”. This screenshot has received a lot of backlash and criticism from many people who believe it is a fake allyship. Sharing this screenshot does not do much for the movement or spread awareness. The ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement is not an aesthetic. It is also not an Instagram challenge. Anyone can share a trending post, but someone who truly supports the movement will …
Editorial: PCC has a problem with responding to anti-Blackness
Share: The coronavirus already exposed many missteps of the college, but with the killing of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement against systemic racism, it’s evident once again that PCC’s leadership hasn’t prioritized relevant issues. On a campus that is only 4% Black, it’s easy to exist on the margins. By failing to address their students’ needs for racism prevention and resource support, PCC’s vice presidents and superintendent/president Erika Endrijonas have let their students down. The course of events leading up to PCC’s …
