PCC to hire 50 new faculty
Share: After adding a record 35 new full-time faculty this year, PCC will be hiring 50 more full-time instructors for fall 2016. The new instructor positions are well-distributed throughout divisions, with at least four new faculty in the Business, Math, English, Health Science, Social Science, Natural Science, and Performing and Communication Arts divisions. Seven new counselors will also be hired, four general counselors and three specializing in financial aid, DSPS, and EOP&S. Follow:
Veterans honored at wall ceremony
Share: A large crowd of veterans, family, friends, and students gathered around PCC’s memorial wall for a ceremony commemorating past and present veterans for their service on the Tuesday before Veterans Day. ACCJC puts school on probation
Share: Pasadena City College officials announced last week that the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) decided to maintain PCC’s accreditation while putting the school on probation for not being able to work together for the betterment of the students and the institution. According to the ACCJC letter to PCC, an institution is placed on probation when the institution drastically strays away from the commission’s eligibility requirements, accreditation standards, or commission policies, but not to an extent that justifies the termination of accreditation. …
