A two-tiered tuition system – in which some students could pay up to $180 per unit – is unlikely to be proposed at PCC. A large majority of members of the Board of Trustees contacted is opposed to the concept. 

The Board of Trustees has approved guiding principles to help students complete their studies at PCC faster and to change the way enrollment is managed.

PCC students hoping to transfer to a California State University by spring of 2013 may have to look elsewhere as state budget cuts could shut the doors for transfers at most CSU campuses, officials said.

A $2.4 million LED light project is near completion on campus. The project will change all the fluorescent tubes to LED lights; much of the campus has already been updated.

Los Angeles Laker Girls Octavia and Deanna visited a restaurant across the street from PCC on Colorado Boulevard for an hour on Tuesday, signing autographs and having their their pictures taken with Laker fans. A crowd of PCC students attended.

 

The PCC community gathered in the Quad for the Million Hoodie March in solidarity after the killing of Trayvon Martin on March 29, voicing their concern about the injustice of the situation.
