Share: On November 8 2022, Measure PCC was overwhelmingly approved by voters in seven LA County Districts, which includes Pasadena, and surrounding municipalities which are represented by the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees. As of 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday morning, the percentage of voters who voted “yes” reached 67.22%, while those voting “no” reached an estimated 32.78%, according to the Los Angeles County election tally tracker. Prop 31 will foster flavored tobacco black market
Share: The fate of whether to uphold a ban on the retail sale of flavored tobacco, will be decided by voters on Proposition 31. A YES on prop 31 would continue the California law, created in 2020, that prohibits flavored tobacco including e-cigarettes and minty menthol from retail shops. According to the Official Voter Information Guide, 80% of kids who use tobacco begin with flavored products. Pasadena’s new city controller makes money moves
Share: Armine Trashian was hired as Pasadena’s City Controller as of early August, a critical time for the city’s Finance Department. While in some cities, like Los Angeles, the controller is an elected position with term limits, in Pasadena it’s a hired position outside of the electoral process. PCC pro-choice voters eager to secure abortion rights with Prop 1
Share: The PCC community will be voting on Proposition 1 on Nov. 8, which would amend the California constitution to expressly protect reproductive freedom, including abortion services and contraceptives.
