A Superior Court judge has dismissed a bribery lawsuit filed against former Vice President of Administrative Services Richard van Pelt and former Facilities Services Supervisor Alfred Hutchings, according to Hutchings’ attorney Craig Renetzky.
Board of Trustees extends president’s contract
The Board of Trustees extended Superintendent-President Mark Rocha’s contract through June 30, 2017 this week, granting Rocha the same pay raise of 4.79% over two years recently approved by the Board for all the administrators and classified staff.

The Lancers football team came out looking strong in the first quarter but couldn’t keep up against the regionally ranked No. 7 College of the Canyons Cougars. The final score was a dismal 56-10 in the SCFA National Northern Conference opener.

The financial aid office needs to get its act in order and try not to make as many unacceptable mistakes that seemed to be negatively impacting student’s lives.

After numerous seasons of horrendous play, most of the Lancer sports teams have ended their seasons with losing records. This semester, football is 0-3. Water polo is worse, dropping its first four games. Volleyball has been unlucky with a 1-5 opening to the season (having to forfeit its first two games, which were wins.)

Late interception steals a win from football team
The Lancers looked poised to earn their first win on Saturday night, leading 17-0 for most of the first half, but an Orange Coast College Pirates interception late in the fourth quarter was the difference in the game. The final score was 27-23.
