PCC track and field athletes competed at both the community college and university levels in the Mt. SAC Relays earlier this month. Once again the Lancers were led by freshman sprinter Alexander McElwee who made his name known among potential 4-year university suitors with his state-fastest time in the 400-meters.

Editorial: Shared governance fumbles with Brown Act

After debates and confusion, it has been decided that the Academic Senate and shared governance leaders will participate in training sessions to clarify which bodies are subject to the California Brown Act. Although this is a step in the right direction, it also exposes how little administration and shared governance bodies understand about the Brown Act.

“Rocking” event brings together community to help end homelessness

Organized by Union Station Homeless Services, participants dressed up in rocker gear to race to end homelessness. Families, volunteers and sponsors gathered at Arcadia County Park this past Saturday to participate in the first annual Rockin’ for the Homeless 5K run/ walk.

Descanso Gardens hosts annual Cherry Blossom Festival

Located in La Cañada Flintridge among acres of woodland is Descanso Gardens. Formerly owned by Elias Boddy, this botanical garden hosts a plethora of horticultural displays as well as the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, held from March 21 to the 22, where visitors enjoy the cherry blossoms in bloom.
