‘Kitty litter’ murder trial bombshell
The ex-student charged with murder in the 2007 slaying of his girlfriend testified to an Alhambra Court on Nov. 30 that she did, in fact, die at his apartment.
In his testimony, Isaac Campbell said he and Liya “Jessie” Lu, a PCC alumna, had an argument, he left the room and when he returned, she was on the floor.
“She was lifeless,” Campbell said. “She wasn’t responding to anything.”
Accused student in ‘kitty litter’ trial was drug dealer, witness says
A witness in the trial of former PCC student Isaac Campbell on Thursday described Campbell’s final days before he fled to Minnesota in 2007, and painted him as a drug dealer who had enthusiasm for mixed martial arts.
Campbell is charged in the August 2007 slaying of his girlfriend Liya “Jessie” Lu, a PCC graduate, and attempting to hide her body in a trash bag filled with kitty litter. Campbell’s friend, Michael Darby, discovered her body in a blue trash can in after Campbell asked him to store the trash can at his house.
Student’s trial in slaying continues
The murder trial of former PCC student Isaac Campbell continued with more testimony on Nov. 15 and will resume with additional witnesses today.
