Share: The W building next to Pasadena City College’s Aquatic Center will no longer house faculty or have classes scheduled as of January 2024, as it is set to be demolished and replaced with a new academic building, under PCC’s new Facilities Master Plan. The Facilities Master Plan (FMP) was approved by the Board of Trustees in May of 2020 though it was not put on the ballot until the 2022 midterms. The $565 million Measure PCC bond to fund the plan was overwhelmingly passed …
Knott’s Scary Farm is not the universal pick for scary amusement parks
Share: It’s October! A Southern California fall means 80-degree weather with brown leaves and a little sprinkle of rain here and there but the excitement is consistent across the country for Halloween. A factor that is pretty much exclusive to Southern California is the mainstream amusement park options of Knotts Scary Farm and Horror Nights at Universal Studios. While these are both top tier choices, which one should be the go-to? Which amusement park can get you the most bang for your buck, which attractions …
Let ‘For All The Dogs’ out, and take it for a walk
Share: After a full season of teasing, Drake released his creative collection of recent albums with the highly anticipated “For All The Dogs” leaving me a little frustrated and unsatisfied, on the first listen. Coming in, it was difficult to know what to expect with this album seeing that the previous three gave a completely different vibe and went in multiple directions, but the consensus with most hip-hop fans was wanting the “old Drake”. The project opened up with “Virginia Beach” a smooth and poetic …
‘Gen V’ proves teen dramas can be a bloody good time
Share: “Gen V” is a spinoff of the popular Amazon Prime television series, “The Boys,” based on the Dynamite Entertainment comic book by Garth Ennis. While “The Boys” initially felt like it was very loosely following the comic book storyline, it was always going in its own direction and has been veering away from the source material with each season. “Gen V” follows suit in that it takes an element from the comic book not yet explored in the T.V. series and recontextualizes it to …

Men’s soccer left out to dry in 1-0 loss against LA College
Share: Under the heat of the sweltering sun, the men’s Soccer team prepared and fought against LA College. Unfortunately for the Lancers, they lost in a very tight game against the Los Angeles Cubs 0-1. Despite having good control of the ball in the first half, the team lost its balance leading to the Cubs one goal. After that, the Lancers just couldn’t get their footing back. The game opened with a strong start from PCC, with a ton of aggressive offense on top of …
Star Wars pays tribute to its animated roots in ‘Ahsoka’
Share: While 2023 opened with the mixed experience that was season three of “The Mandalorian,” the Star Wars saga is once again back, this time swinging for the stars with their latest show “Ahsoka.” Although this show isn’t without its flaws, its open and infectious love for both “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels” can just about make me look past its flaws. At its simplest, “Ahsoka” is a follow-up to “Rebels” an animated show that ran from 2014 to 2018 on …
PCC students support Newsom’s new gun laws to improve safety
Share: On Sept. 26 2023, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed off on SB 2 and SB 368 that both push for additional restraints on gun control and assert gun safety by raising tax on guns and ammunition, limitations on where individuals can carry a gun, microstamping hand cartridges, preventing potentially harmful individuals from any possession of a gun, and more. As gun control has remained a disputed conversation, the state’s new gun regulations were followed by more controversy on whether Newsom’s decision to sign off …
