It was a sight to see: elaborate skull costumes, dozens awaiting skeletal face makeovers, regular Frida Kahlo sightings, hundreds dancing to the beat of folkloric drumming and admirable altar offerings to those departed all found its niche in Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s 9th annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration on Saturday.

The most powerful nation in the world has elected its first African-American President, and PCC students seem thrilled.

The R Building turned dry on Monday as water service to the whole structure was shut off following a severed water line.

A witness for the defense in the pending murder trial of former PCC student George Pigman failed to appear in court for a hearing on Monday. Last week, the court refused to grant a continuance for the defense, and ordered the witness, a psychiatrist evaluating Pigman to appear.

Students gathered at Galloway Plaza to dance in celebration of Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Thursday.

Pasadena City College will be participating in a statewide drill simulating a magnitude 7.8 earthquake at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13. Various establishments such government buildings and schools will be participating this mock drill to prepare for a catastrophic natural disaster.

The “Leap Frog into a Sustainable Future” Green Summit was held at PCC on Sunday for the first time although there was no budget for the event, according to Professor Yuet-Ling O’Connor.

As more people are coming out of the woodwork to join the “green” cause, is it genuine or has this become a fad? We may never know the true answer, but for those out there who have good intentions and are actively supporting the “green” cause, Godspeed.

If alternative energy is the way of the future, then this PCC student is new world in an old world environment.
