Women’s basketball unable to upset El Camino

Despite a valiant second half rally to send the game into overtime, the 10th-seeded Lancers women’s basketball team could not overcome a 14-point first half deficit, losing to seventh-seeded El Camino College, 71-64, in Round 2 of the Southern California Regional Playoffs Friday night.

The women’s basketball team almost pulled off a stunning comeback win at the Hutto-Patterson gymnasium on Wednesday against their crosstown rivals East LA CC Huskies, who prevailed 67-62 due to a dominating defensive performance that forced the Lady Lancers to commit way too many costly errors.

Women’s basketball lose second straight conference game

The stage was set for arguably one of the games of the conference season, with the No. 18 ranked Lancers hoping to cause an upset and also wanting to atone for a thrilling one-point overtime loss to East LA College in their previous conference match-up on January 10. Women’s volleyball optimistic despite missing playoffs

With the departure of five sophomores from last season’s squad and an early season-ending injury to the team’s lone returning sophomore, Saige Spence, the Lancers finished the season with a 5-16 overall record, good for sixth place in the South Coast Conference.

Tensions rose over the weekend in Los Angeles as p Tensions rose over the weekend in Los Angeles as protesters clashed with law enforcement and city officials, putting the city of Pasadena and PCC community members on high alert. 

PCC President José Gómez sent out a campus wide email late Sunday night encouraging students to stay connected and continue to attend class this week. 

“College leadership in closely monitoring the situation, we remain in regular contact with our public safety officers and the City of Pasadena,” Gómez said in the email. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, and we remain fully committed to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all. That commitment is unwavering.”
