Tomorrow morning, PCC will be participating in the national school walkout which is both a memorial in honor of the victims of the Parkland shooting and a protest against current gun laws. According to EMPOWER, the youth branch of the Women’s March group who created the event, more than 2,500 organizations across the nation and some internationally plan to participate. Interim chief appointed head of police and safety
Steven Matchan was appointed as PCC’s permanent chief of police and safety services this July after replacing prior director Don Yoder since June 2014, making him the fifth chief since 2011.
Campus surveillance system to undergo $165K upgrade
Security systems company Sierra Group has been awarded a $165,516 contract to upgrade and replace portions of PCC’s existing security system, including 38 campus-wide surveillance cameras, as well as elements of the command center at campus police.
