Badminton wins third undefeated conference title

Even with their top four singles players missing in action, the women’s badminton team finished off the South Coast conference season in style by easily accounting for hosts El Camino College-Compton 21-0 on Wednesday and also claimed their third undefeated conference title in the process with a 12-0 SCC record.

Pasadena has been so dominant in the SCC this season that Ho has had to resort to unique methods by testing her players against stronger male opponents in practice sessions and sending her team to compete in recent tournaments in Northern California and San Diego that allow her team to be pushed outside their comfort zone.

The women’s badminton team extended their winning streak to four games on the trot with a clinical 20-1 drubbing of last year’s South Coast Champions, East LA Huskies in a return conference game on Friday at Hutto-Patterson gymnasium, which involved a standout performance from the Lancers doubles team who didn’t drop a set.
