On Friday June 14th, from 9 to 1pm outside studios across Los Angeles, members of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA took to the streets for the first day of a historic double strike. This marked the 1st day of picketing for striking actors, and the 73rd day for members of the Writer's Guild.

The picket line outside Netflix's Sunset Blvd. studio was described by WGAW strike captain Henry Gammill as, "a very friendly riot."

Happy summer! 🌻☀️Students and staff away fr
Happy summer! 🌻☀️Students and staff away from PCC for the summer are missing out on several floral blooms across campus right now:

1. The common sunflower (Helianthus annuus), a true fan-favorite. Sunflowers are native to North America and Mexico. 🌻

2. Acanthus is more commonly known as bear's breeches. This plant is native to Europe and Africa and its leaves bear toothed edges below delicate petals. The plant is considered invasive in California.

3. A drought-resistant Lophostemon confertus tree is in full bloom. Native to Australia, these trees are sometimes called vinegar trees due to a smell caused by a substance within the tree after its twigs break or snap.

4. Lobelia erinus (commonly called edging lobelia) is a small but vibrant flowering plant native to southern Africa and gathered in a tiny and undeniably cute patch.

5. Texas Sage (Leucophyllum frutescens) native to Texas, is another drought-tolerant flowering plant that pollinators are attracted to.

6. Myrtus communis, also known as common myrtle is native to the Mediterranean and parts of northern Africa. It has countless bees buzzing for its blooms across from the automotive workshops.
