Share: The Lancers men’s soccer team lost another non-conference game Friday, extending their losing streak to five games as San Diego Mesa College defeated them 5-2. The Lancers had a streak of 376 minutes without scoring going into this game and have allowed six unanswered goals dating back to their game-tying goal in the 74th minute against Santa Ana College on Sept. 1. Freshman-heavy men’s soccer produces mediocre season
The Lancers fielded 19 freshman in their 24-man squad, which exposed these 18 year olds against more seasoned, stronger and tactically astute 22 and 23-year-old opposition. According to head coach Edgar Manvelyan, this was the major reason for his team’s displeasing season.
Playoff chance lost by men’s soccer against LA Harbor
The Seahawks dominated the rest of the game due to unstoppable runs, accurate passing and superior skills. The match-winning goal came with 19 minutes remaining, which took even more sting out of PCC and they weren’t able to retaliate.

Pasadena’s defense had no answers for the Falcon’s relentless attacking display. It made matters worse that PCC was missing a few of its key defensive players due to injuries and ineligibility.
