The women’s water polo team opened its 2011 season with a catastrophic 16-2 loss against the highly rated Chaffey College.

Coming off a blowout loss to budding rival Allan Hancock, PCC answered its critics with a convincing 39-9 victory on the road over LA Valley College on Sept. 17.

Coming off a record-breaking win over the visiting Vaqueros of Glendale Community College, the home game on Sept. 10 saw the Lancers football team suffer its first defeat to Allan Hancock College in blowout fashion.
The women’s volleyball team defeated Cypress and Santa Barbara in a tournament at El Camino College on Friday.
The men’s soccer team got back on track as it won its fourth match of the season by a score of 4-1 against College of the Desert on Sept. 9.
A record breaking pass play, one of five passing touchdowns, helped the Lancers football team to a victory against Glendale Community College on Saturday.
The record setting play was a 96-yard pass by quarterback Justin Posthuma to wide receiver Jose Rodriguez. PCC has won the last seven games against Glendale with the final score of Lancers 49 to Vaqueros 28.
The Lancers got off to a fast start this season by beating Cuyamaca 4-2, San Diego Mesa 4-0 and Fullerton 2-0 in recent weeks.
Despite the hot start there was very little evidence of that in this game.
In a game fraught with personal injury, the women’s soccer team put up a good fight in the season opening game, hosting the LA Pierce College women’s soccer team at Robinson Stadium on Sept. 2. The Lancers lost 6-3, but the effort showed by the women was commendable.
With the fall season starting soon, the soccer teams have a lot of potential for 2011, with a fresh, full roster and a brand new bag of tricks.
