Han Le became a US citizen only two years ago. However she has always felt like a citizen and loves living in America. She began her life in Vietnam, but left as a baby with her parents.

“My parents were boat people who escaped Vietnam for freedom,” said Le.

Le is determined to be successful at PCC not only for herself, but also her parents.

“My parents risked their lives for freedom, they almost died,” Le said. “I want to be successful for them.”

As the Associated Student’s vice president of publicity, Le is constantly busy. She has a full load of classes and still manages to take care of AS business.

Before coming to PCC, Le began her studies at Cal Poly Pomona, but realized that it wasn’t for her and transferred to PCC.

“I feel that I found myself at PCC,” said Le. “I would say going to PCC was a life-changing event for me.”

As an AS Executive Board member Le hopes to make PCC students more aware of the organization.

“One of the major problems about AS is that students don’t know about it,” she said.

Le describes herself as friendly, down to earth and understanding.

Her boyfriend, Alexander Dien, agrees with her.

“Han has always been energetic, fun loving and friendly,” said Dien.

Le’s fellow Executive Board member, Jason Herbert, vice president of academic affairs, describes her as a “mini dynamo.”

“She is much better than last year’s VP of publicity,” said Herbert.

From her position, Le hopes to create access for students.

“I really care for the PCC students,” she said. “I want them to get out there.”

Le hopes to eventually transfer to UCSD to major in communications and then get her masters in public relations.
