Protest against budget cuts planned on campus
At noon today, PCC students and workers plan to rally together at PCC’s mirror pools on the north side of campus to kick off a day of protest in downtown L.A. against public education budget cuts. At 1:30 p.m., they plan to march to the Metro Gold Line’s Lake Station and take the train downtown to join a planned mass rally at 3 p.m.
Former student arrested after thefts on campus
A former PCC student has been arrested in connection with a string of thefts on campuses. Jose De Jesus Macias is accused of stealing music equipment from the PCC campus as well as the campus of CSU Dominguez Hills, between 2006 and 2007.
Board moves forward with televising its meetings
In an effort to bring transparency to the Board of Trustees proceedings, a proposal for televising of meetings was scheduled to be discussed on Wednesday. The proposal outlines a plan to use the video recording equipment that is provided free of charge to the college by the Pasadena Community Access Corporation or PCAC.
