After working at the Shatford Library for 32 years, Mary Ann Laun has decided to retire and pursue other goals. “I would like for people to remember me as a passionate person and always saying yes to students,” said recently.
Fall classes to be cut by almost 8 percent
The number of class sections being offered this fall has been cut by almost 8 percent from the previous year. The number of sections will drop from 2,361 last year, to 2,180, officials said this week.
QR codes making the physical world clickable
Almost everyone has seen one: the little square images that look like digitized ink blots appearing on ads outside store windows and in newspapers. UCLA Day
Despite the heat, a large crowd flocked to the Quad on Wednesday for UCLA Day to get information about transferring, majors, and other programs.
There were about 18 tables with at least one representative each to hand out information and talk to students. The UCLA Departments and the Undergraduate Admissions tables had the most students waiting to gather the information available.
Homeless student defies the odds
