Lions, dragons and drummers dance to celebrate Chinese culture
Share: Lions danced, dragons soared and drummers pounded to their own ethnic beat in the warm spring air as crowds gathered in a circle to watch on Thursday in Galloway Plaza at Pasadena City College (PCC). PCC and the PCC Global Club hosted Chinese Culture Day on campus and invited the Developing Virtue Boys School’s Lion and Dragon Dance and 24 Seasons Drumming clubs to perform and teach workshops for the fourth year in a row. “Rocking” event brings together community to help end homelessness
Organized by Union Station Homeless Services, participants dressed up in rocker gear to race to end homelessness. Families, volunteers and sponsors gathered at Arcadia County Park this past Saturday to participate in the first annual Rockin’ for the Homeless 5K run/ walk.
Descanso Gardens hosts annual Cherry Blossom Festival
Located in La Cañada Flintridge among acres of woodland is Descanso Gardens. Formerly owned by Elias Boddy, this botanical garden hosts a plethora of horticultural displays as well as the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, held from March 21 to the 22, where visitors enjoy the cherry blossoms in bloom.

Professor Nobles Hosts Seminar About Race
Share: Each year, Professor Jennifer Nobles hosts a seminar featuring a panel of successful African Americans for her Psychology of the African American class, as well as the general public. This year it was held on February 19th from 12 p.m.to 2 p.m. in Harbeson Hall.
