Students still watch the debates, but seek out other sources too

Share: The GOP presidential primary was kicked off last week with the first debate of the 2024 presidential election race. Fox, who hosted the event, reported 12.8 million views, which is approximately half of the views the network received in 2015 when Trump participated. The former president instead chose to have a 1 on 1 interview with former Fox commentator, Tucker Carlson. He later ridiculed the debate on social media claiming his interview drew 257 million views, statistics no one was able to confirm.  With …

‘One Piece’ sets sail for success in vast seas of live-action TV

Share: The long-awaited live-action adaptation of the world’s top-selling manga, “One Piece,” has hit Netflix as of last week (August 31). But as with any adaptation, it begs the question of whether or not this is any good, or if it’s a waste of time like many attempts at live-action anime adaptations. The eight-episode season put out by Netflix squashes the negative expectations held by fans of the series and/or other anime consumers. At the moment, it is ranked 3rd in this week’s Netflix TV …

Did Threads mark X’s grave, or was their doom sewn from the start?

Share: Almost a year ago, Elon Musk closed his $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter, making the platform’s future uncertain. A little over eight months later, Meta launched Threads in direct competition against Twitter. Within less than a week, Threads exceeded expectations and garnered 100 million users. One month later, more than half of users severed ties with Threads. The sudden success and subsequent backfiring of Threads is not a story new to the technology stratosphere. Social media, in particular, always has expiration dates for …

Whether it’s a cheating scandal or a Kardashian baby name announcement, celebrities have the public wrapped around their fingers. The most important question to ask is, does paying attention to this gossip actually benefit us? For most, the answer would be no, but for some, celebrity drama can become an all consuming habit.  In the last couple of weeks, …

The singer performed his first set after arriving an hour late and abruptly ended as the midnight curfew for the concer arrivedt. Many of his tracks were pre-recorded and he lip-synced to the lyrics.  The original concept was canceled mere hours before the performance, which …
