Cal Grant Cut Plan May Affect Many Students

Hundreds of PCC students may be affected by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s proposal to eliminate the Cal Grants program. According to officials, over 800 incoming students at PCC and over 100,000 statewide could feel the crunch.At PCC’s financial aid office, the reactions are mixed as to whether or not Cal Grants should be saved.

Automotive Program Recognized

PCC has been named as an official Automotive Youth Education Systems program, making it the second community college in California to be approved by AYES. AYES is a national partnership of education departments, automobile manufacturers and automobile dealers dedicated to preparing students to fill entry-level positions in the automotive industry.
