Dr. George Boone, PCC alumnus, and a major donor to the Boone Sculpture Garden, died at the age of 85 due to Parkinson’s disease.
PCC Newcomers Get A Head Start On Welcome Day
New students will have the opportunity to explore PCC and all the school has to offer Aug. 29, at the sixth annual Welcome Day. Open to all registered students, Welcome Day will center in the Sculpture Garden from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Here, students will be able to take guided tours of the campus, get their student IDs, buy their textbooks, and meet faculty members as well as other students.
Soccer Teams Aim For Athletic and Academic Success
After finishing last season without making it to the playoffs, PCC Assistant Men’s Soccer Head Coach Warren Altounian is preparing for an “exciting season.” Currently practicing for the upcoming season, Altounian hopes for a strong, competitive team, both athletically and academically driven.

During her first season at PCC, the head coach of the women’s volleyball team, Tammy Silva helped the team complete its goal by placing fourth in the South Coast Conference (SCC) and finishing with a .500 record overall.Four players made it to the 2007 All-SCC Selections: first team selection Ashley Marshman and Candice Price, and the second team selection Amy Stone and Aliyyah Abdullah.

The competition has now been narrowed down to two candidates, freshmen Jonathan Troast (South Pasadena High) and latecomer Nick Ponce (Arcadia High), who recently started practicing with the team.
Cross Country Hopes for Progress After Difficult Season
