Despite making the regional playoffs for the 14th consecutive season, the Lancers’ women’s basketball team will enter unfamiliar territory on Friday when they travel to play No. 7 El Camino College.
Softball wins second straight
Down by three runs with two outs in the first inning, all the Lancers wanted was an out to get them out of the hole and back on offense. The softball team maintained their strategy and beat the Los Angeles Harbor College Seahawks 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon on their home turf to improve their record to 10-5 overall.

Lancers win easily versus Techsters
Share: The Lancers improved their mistakes on defense and spread the ball around as they beat Los Angeles Trade Tech College easily, 59-46, on Friday night. They improved to 4-4 in the SCC-North and 17-11 overall. Women’s basketball coach Joe Peron likes his team’s chances against any opponent they are placed against. The Lancers fought hard, but ran out of gas in the later innings against the Roadrunners of Rio Hondo, as they fell 9-4 on Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The women’s basketball team almost pulled off a stunning comeback win at the Hutto-Patterson gymnasium on Wednesday against their crosstown rivals East LA CC Huskies, who prevailed 67-62 due to a dominating defensive performance that forced the Lady Lancers to commit way too many costly errors.

The Lancers’ men’s basketball team dropped another close home game Wednesday evening, losing 85-82 against East Los Angeles College. The tough defeat drops the Lancers to 11-14 on the season and likely ends the their chances of qualifying for the team’s second consecutive postseason appearance.
