Faculty Association President Defends Interim Athletic Dean

I was disheartened to learn of the “Vote of No Confidence’ orchestrated by some members of the Division of Kinesiology, Health & Athletics (KH&A) against Interim Dean Beverly Tate. I have known Beverly Tate for over fifteen years. She has always been one of the most innovative, resourceful, intelligent, and humane voices on campus.

Women Basketball Heads to Sixth Straight State Tournament

Second Team All-State Guard Kinyada Johnson sank a long three-pointer after 7 minutes and 45 seconds of the first half scoring her 1,001st point of her Lancer career to lead the fourth-seeded PCC women’s basketball team to victory over the visiting San Bernardino Valley College 85-63 on Saturday.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Veteran’s Affairs Void of Veterans

To put it plainly and to the point…PCC does not have a true Veteran’s Affairs office. As a Vietnam veteran, I attend PCC and plan to transfer to a university, but with no veteran’s affairs help. The staff were totally unhelpful, none were veterans. The problems of veterans are more understood by other veterans rather than the regular society.

A Glimpse Into Lives of the Rarely Noticed

The facilities department at PCC operates 7 days a week from 10 p.m. Sunday night through 12 a.m. Friday.The department employs about 90 members on its staff and there are three shifts each week. Longtime employee Tom Heredia has worked at PCC for 30 years and his two children are PCC alumni.

Former PCC student George Wood Pigman IV will return to court March 30 and likely be sentenced to a state mental hospital for the duration of his sentence or until a hearing that proves his sanity has been restored.

Fate of Hallway Art is Tied to the Impending Demolition of T Building

Tucked away on the interior of the T Building, the stencils and stickers that line the hallways represent a safe haven of subculture at PCC. As construction for the new Arts Building nears, the fate of the graffiti art that lines the hallways looks grim.
