A YouTube video rant posted by UCLA student Alexandra Wallace about Asian students has sparked outrage and even garnered death threats from viewers. “If you’re going to come to UCLA,” Wallace said as a preface to her video, “then use American manners”.
Speaker encourages networking as a key to success for STEM participants
The Science Technology Engineering Mathematics program at PCC enlisted guest speaker Dr. Priya Venkatesan on March 17 to motivate and pass on several tips to ensure student success. Her best advice: take advantage of technology and network. The government-funded STEM program aims to assist students in accomplishing their goal of transferring to a four-year university and ultimately, achieve a graduate’s degree.
Disabled students give back to community
The Students Unlimited club presented a check for $390 to the Disabled Students Program and Services (DSPS) on Thursday. Students Unlimited is a club for disabled students and others who support equal access to education. The club strives to promote disability awareness and it started in the fall of 2009.

Scholarships available through Latino Scholarship Fund
The President’s Latino Advisory Committee is offering several $1,000 scholarships to students, through the Latino Scholarships Fund.PLAC started in 2005 and consists of committee members from the community and PCC faculty and staff, as well as local businesses and friends of the college.
