The PCC women’s volleyball team defeated of the Glendale Vaqueros, 25-9, 25-19, 26-24, Wednesday at Hutto- Patterson Gym.

The PCC Women’s Volleyball team captured it’s second win of the preseason by defeating Antelope Valley College, 26-24, 25-12, 25-14, Sept. 2 at Antelope Valley’s Marauder Gym. The win gives a record of 2-1 in the preseason. The win did not come easy as the women, who had to travel over an hour away to a hostile environment, actually trailed in the first set by 4 points.

The Lancer defense returned three interceptions for touchdowns in a close loss against Mount San Antonio College on Sept. 5 in Walnut.

For far too long, students who would rather not smoke have had to involuntarily breathe in tobacco-infused air, their health being put at the mercy of others.

The men’s soccer team was dominated by Los Angeles Mission College on Tuesday, losing their opening home game at Robinson Stadium.

Second year PCC student Brian Abadia, 21, will be serving alongside the Pasadena Community College District Board of Trustees as the student trustee for the 2009-10 academic school year.

One of the biggest changes this semester is the appointment of acting college president Lisa Sugimoto. As a former Lancer, she is quite familiar with the school.

The Board of Trustees has reversed its July decision to cut PCC’s winter session, reinstating half of what is usually offered. Although a full winter session was deemed unaffordable, Acting Dean of Enrollment Management and Academic Support Allen Dooley explained that a partial winter session will be offered instead.

Starting college can be both exciting and scary. For the incoming freshman their experience will require some adjusting to, not just mentally but economically as well.

In a better attempt to comply with a law forbidding smoking within 20 feet of any public building, PCC has implemented four designated smoking areas to be used by students and faculty.
