81st Academy Awards Wins Praise and Pans from Student

Sunday was a busy night for many PCC students. Taking time off from their studies, several jumped at the chance to gather around the TV and cheer for their favorite stars and movies. The 81st Annual Academy Awards had some highlights and yet some disappointments, according to many students.

ALBUM REVIEW: Lamb of God’s ‘Wrath’ is Solid, Not Great

Lamb of God’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, Wrath, is another attempt for the band to establish its dominance in the post-Pantera era of American metal. The band delivers another hard-hitting record to add to its illustrious collection, but sadly enough, does little to assert its place as the leaders of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.

Any team from any sport from anywhere on earth has the same common goal at the beginning of a season. A team strives to play better than it did the previous season with the overall record as an ultimate indication of improvement. Even championship teams find themselves aspiring to perk up their skills following a superb season.

Cadets Face Daily Inspections Before Duties

If you’ve ever seen a phalanx of cadets conducting exercises behind the T building by the automotive department, then you’ve probably witnessed a ‘Charles Watch’ inspection. Each weekday before both shifts, cadets perform drill inspection exercises in mornings and afternoons.

With curiosity quickly brewing into frustration as the ongoing construction on campus begins to impede parking and reroute students coming onto campus, officials assure that the new facilities will be ready by June. Parking, however, will not get any better until then.

‘Boots to Books’ Class Sets Out to Reach Veterans

PCC is the second community college in the nation to offer a program for returning veterans. The Boots to Books night class, listed as Counseling 12, starts Wednesday and meets California State University general education requirements for personal growth and development.
