Former student becomes new acting president

One of the biggest changes this semester is the appointment of acting college president Lisa Sugimoto. As a former Lancer, she is quite familiar with the school.

Winter intersession partially reinstated

The Board of Trustees has reversed its July decision to cut PCC’s winter session, reinstating half of what is usually offered. Although a full winter session was deemed unaffordable, Acting Dean of Enrollment Management and Academic Support Allen Dooley explained that a partial winter session will be offered instead.

In a better attempt to comply with a law forbidding smoking within 20 feet of any public building, PCC has implemented four designated smoking areas to be used by students and faculty.

Supply of parking permits runs out, frustrating students

The new system for purchasing parking permits left many students confused and without a permit. Passes on campus ran out Aug. 31 and again Sept. 1 when the line was dispersed around 10:30 a.m.
