Fashion show features hip hop artist

The Black Student Alliance hosted a night acknowledging liberation through education and culture as fashion, hip-hop, and Talib Kweli etched the message into the many minds at CEC on Saturday night.Kweli, renowned in hip-hop circles for his heedful and socially conscious rhymes put down the microphone usually reserved for spit swaddled mad flows and instead engaged the audience in a Q & A session.

‘Bus Stop’ drama to be presented

The PCC Theater Department will be presenting “Bus Stop,” a drama-comedy popularized in 1956 through a film adaptation starring Marilyn Monroe.The play, about disparate lives that intersect at a roadside diner during a snowstorm, is directed by Whitney Rydbeck from a script by William Inge.

Women’s leader speaks on campus

Sonali Kolhatkar, host of KPFK’s (90.7 FM) morning showing ‘Uprising,’ spoke in tandem with an array of noted speakers at this year’s Borders of Diversity conference dubbed “Women: Breaking Boundaries and Beyond.”Speaking on her newly released book “Bleeding Afghanistan,” Kolhatkar stood in front of a mass that filled the corners of Harbeson Hall where she gave a succinct and concise speech on the condition of women in Afghanistan.
