Eager PCC students, along with friends and families, joined the hundreds of people who attended the Pasadena ArtNight on Oct. 10.The PCC Art Gallery was open late especially for the day’s festival. The free event gathered a large number of attendees who took advantage of the free shuttle service and hopped from exhibit to exhibit.

Each bus stop was filled with people waiting to go to the next exhibit. PCC was among one of the last stops.

“Good turn out. We’ve had a steady stream all night. I think it was well attended,” said Brian Tucker, gallery director.

In her first appearance at PCC, Jacqueline Dreager thought the show was wonderful.

“I love getting the work out, I think people really enjoy it,” said Dreager.

“Tulle Pillar” lit up the gallery with its high stand wrapped in warm ruffles, like a trail of a dress. It was among the favorites with most visitors, including the Jazz band that played outside of the exhibit the entire night.

“I just really like it because it’s tall, elegant, and really just graceful. I also liked the motorcycle. It was done up really nice,” said Juan Valdez, bass player.

“It’s saying so much, it’s hard to say anything about it,” said Elizabeth Bucle, a visitor from the Los Angeles area regarding “Tulle Pillar.”

The Norton Simon Museum had a large turn out. A large number of people were lined up outside, waiting for the shuttle service.

“I had no idea, Pasadena had so many cool museums, it’s awesome. I’ve been to the Louvre Museum in Paris, and everything here [North Simon Museum] is reminding me of clips from the Louvre. This is an awesome experience for the both of us,” said Judith Puente, 18, toxicology major and Rosendo Dominguez, 19, art.

Friends Jessica Leong and Jane Mapacpac, both PCC nursing students, took advantage of ArtNight and the free shuttle service as part of their Friday night hang out.

“This is our fifth stop, I had never been to any of the museums, it was so fun. Everything excites us because it’s our first time,” said Leong.

“I liked the cover picture of boats at PCC. That was what grabbed my attention and made me want to come,” said Mapacpac.

“I’m glad that PCC was involved. I’m so proud of our school,” said Leong.

PCC graphic design student, Isai Favela also enjoyed ArtNight as he and his friend sketched art.

“Pretty cool. We’re having a good time watching and sketching art, and the shuttle ride was really comfy,” said Favela.

Everyone who attended ArtNight enjoyed the artistic atmosphere. The transportation was also made convenient for guests who wanted to explore all varieties and exhibits of art in Pasadena.
