There comes a time when we reach a certain experience that might be a bit unconventional. At first we might be afraid, then a little petrified, not much unlike Gloria Gaynor. Whether it’s a car accident, a shark bite or a bad date, the unexpected happens. The only way to prepare for some situations is simply to know what to do when the time comes. We are creatures of habit. We know how to deal with day-to-day events like getting to school or brushing our teeth – not necessarily in that order. We do not know how to get around or work with the things we aren’t accustomed to for the most part. Sometimes the answer is obvious and right in front of our faces. Sometimes, those answers mean we are going to have to do something we hate doing like waiting in a hospital or riding on a bus next to some creepy, short lady with hideous sun spots and Tourette’s Syndrome belting out verses from the Star Spangled Banner every two minutes, using profane words. Even worse would be ending up having to hurt someone’s feelings and tell them they were a creepy blind date and the friend that set you up would no longer be a friend. However, we must always keep a smile on our face and make lemonade when handed lemons.
